Dave Carter is an award-winning animator-director with a knack for characters and comedy. His work spans high-end to lo-fi, covering techniques from digital 2D to stopmotion.

As director, his series credits include: Psychotown (second series, FX), Sweatland (full- length pilot, FX), Billy and the Bitch (Mondo Media), Bin Chickens (ABC), and Psychotown (commissioned by Mike Judge for The Animation Show). Dave has been in series development at Netflix and FX/Disney with creative partner Nikos Andronicos, known together as ‘Channel Plarb’.

In short films, Carter directed the Screen Australia-commissioned short Fish With Legs (Best Australian Animation, Flickerfest 2017). His works have been screened at major festivals, including Annecy, Fantasia, Santa Barbara, and the Sydney Film Festival, and are included in the National Film and Sound Archives for preservation.

His filmography has been broadcast globally across platforms such as FX, Hulu, Comedy Central, MTV, ABC, and SBS.
